 SERVING HEALTH CARE

Inquire Overview

Inquire MD is the New Generation of Software for Healthcare Providers to Escalate, Collaborate and Analyze on Patients in a Pre-and Post-Hospital Environment.

As cloud-based technology, smartphone business apps, and SaaS pricing models are gaining overwhelming acceptance, the cost of traditional server based solutions, (which includes constant storage and software upgrades as well as hardware maintained cost) continue to present a strain on company’s budgets and cash flow.

We completely understand. That is why Inquire created this software that can record and document patient events, connect live with providers and specialist, and transcribe medical incidents using an Android or IOS Application.

It is a simple and robust system. You can stream your events live, record with bookmarks and notes, create audio and chat conferences with multiple parties, and automatically upload to the secure Inquire Server. You can even geo-tag a specific location for on-scene emergencies. The features are endless.

With Inquire, it’s easy for healthcare providers to escalate, collaborate and analyze patients in a pre-and post-hospital environment. Live stream patient events or later search on date, time, patientID, bookmarks, bookmark notes, GPS location, and device ID. In addition, you can perform QA evaluations and run reports for all of your events.

Escalate Emergencies, Collaborate with Providers, and Analyze Patients

Inquire MD offers and simple and effective way for pre-hospital providers to enact with ER Doctors, Specialists and more to ensure the best patient outcomes possible. The situations in which Inquire MD can be utilized are endless. From ensuring that stroke and trauma patient’s “Door to Needle Time” is significantly reduced to providing an immediate care solution for injured workers in remote locations, the Inquire MD software is the most diverse pre-hospital management solution there is. On top of improving patient outcomes, Inquire MD can significantly reduce costs of transporting non-emergent patients.

Below are just some of the various industries and ways in which Inquire MD can provide pre-hospital care solutions.

There is a need in the commercial aviation industry to improve the efficiency of how medical emergencies are handled in the air. Currently there is a radio network and various points that the communication goes through between air crews, ground operations and the physician.  By utilizing the Inquire MD app, air crews would be able to connect an audio/video conference directly between the patient on the plane and the physician on the ground.

Those in Aviation, particularly Risk and Safety officers are eager to add new technology into their workflows that streamlines process and increases efficiency. Flight crews and operations personnel are more and more concerned about the cost associated with in air emergencies and how to properly assess those to ensure they are not diverting aircraft un-necessarily. It is estimated that there is an in-flight medical emergency on 1 in 500 flights. The estimated cost to the airline to divert a flight is somewhere near $35,000.00 per event.

Inquire MD offers the solution to this problem. The app would also allow the flight operations and pilot to be conferenced into the conversation to help decide on whether the aircraft should continue to its original destination or be diverted to a closer airport, thus eliminating the costs associated with unecessary reroutes due to in-flight emergencies.

Ambulance crews often work in very remote environments where access to a physician is very delayed.  Certain call types such as Stroke and Trauma have a window in order to provide care to that patient.  With these and any other types of EMS calls, time is of the essence and improved patient outcomes can be dependent upon how soon that patient is assessed by a physician. Ambulance services are very concerned about patient outcomes and medicare reimbursement is becoming performance based.

Being able to get patients into the ER faster helps these ambulances get back in service faster thus reducing the time that units sit unproductive in hospital lobbies. In Stroke the standard of “Door to Needle Time” has to do with a patient receiving the proper medication with a certain time from onset of symptoms.  Currently when a patient gets to the ER, they have to wait to be assessed by the Stroke physician to determine if they are a candidate for this medication prior to them going for a CT Scan.  With InquireMD, not only are ambulances able to get back into service quicker, but also the physicians assessment can done while that patients are enroute to the hospital, thus cutting that very important time down. This type of assessment can be done for any other types of calls to better “Triage” for those patients as well as to reduce the time that it takes to get the critical patients into the ER.

Industrial accidents happen every day and many of these are in remote locations such as offshore oil platforms. As well as offshore, some onshore rigs are also in extremely remote areas.  When an injury occurs currently other than a phone call to a doctor they have to send their employees to the hospital.  An employee on an offshore rig being flown to a hospital can incur a cost near $35,000.00. The same need applies to industries such as Marine and even Wildlife. Without access to immediate care in these remote job locations, patient outcomes are significantly reduced and cost is driven up by the need to transport any and all workers needing care, emergent or not.

With Inquire MD, the ability of a remote healthcare provider to collaborate with a doctor elsewhere is vital to the treatment of these industrial accident patients.  By allowing a paramedic on an offshore platform to video conference with a physician on shore is vital to ensuring the proper care for that patient as well as reducing un-necessary cost to the company.

One of the issues troubling the EMS industry is the rising number of patients that are transported for non-medically necessary reasons. These individuals, sometimes called “Frequent Flyers” typically have medical conditions that do not carry a reimbursement from Medicare for service.  These patients in most cases are not paid for by the insurance and the providers are having to eat the cost of an ambulance transport which in most areas can run in the $1,500.00 per transport.

By Inquire MD implementing a program called M.I.N.T. (Mobile Innovations for Non-Transport), the cost burden on the EMS Provider will significantly reduce, as well as the number of Non-Medically Necessary patients crowding the ERs.  The benefit of this program is that it will reduce the cost to the EMS agency on their Non-Medically Necessary patients by allowing the field provider to video conference with a physician and request an alternative means of transportation (cab, Uber, Lyft, etc.) and an alternative destination (Urgent Care, PCP). Because of this, the unit can be put back into service to be available for higher acuity patients that do need an ambulance.

Community paramedicine is an emerging healthcare profession that allows paramedics and EMS providers to administer routine healthcare services to rural underserved populations, and helps to improve these area’s emergency medical services. Some rural patients lack access to primary care, and use 911 services for non-urgent healthcare. This is not only a burden for volunteer EMS personnel in rural areas, but it also drives up cost for ambulance agencies.

With Inquire MD, first responders can collaborate with primary care physicians, specialists and more in order to meet the needs of rural residents in a more efficient and proactive way. Using Inquire MD in community paramedicine results in reducing requests for non-urgent services that are not reimbursed, decreasing the amount of “down time” between calls, while better serving residents’ primary care needs, and increasing revenue by billing patients or third party payers for services provided, when appropriate.

Elegant and Easy to Use

With ambulance costs rising, the amount of non-medically necessary transports increasing, and the weight of liability on healthcare providers mounting, a solution to the problems many EMS providers, hospitals and doctors face is certainly needed. With MD, providers now have the ability to create remote, secure, efficient patient care events so that they can dramatically reduce cost as well as liability and significantly increase efficiency and patient outcomes. Expediting patient care and improving cost and patient outcomes are key goals for MD, and with our software, healthcare providers are able to connect with doctors, specialists and providers anywhere, transmit vital signs to the conferencing doctors, and live stream healthcare events from anywhere, including the ability to two way chat/audio. This assures a seamless patient care experience and an efficient use of medical resources.
